and the Roerich Pact

Year 2010, will be a year of celebrations anywhere in the world, so that as much the Roerich Pact as the Banner of Peace, turns 75 years.

In Mexico, these celebrations began, thanks to our gentile collaborators, and to ours appreciated Coordinator, the Lic. Pilar Gallego, to whom we are thankful for its great enthusiasm so that the commemorative exhibition is a reality.

Day 21 of January, in the gorgeous Center Mexiquense de Cultura, of the City of Toluca, the photographic exhibition was inaugurated that presents the history of the Roerich Pact, different cultures where it appears the Symbol of the Banner of Peace and emblematic places of the World where there is been, as well as copies of masterpieces of the Initiator of the Banner, illustrious painter Nicholas Roerich, philosopher, writer, painter, author of more than 7.500 pictures, lawyer, untiring, traveler, protector of the arts and humanist, postulate for the Nobel prize of Peace.

This interesting collection, belongs to the Center the International of the Roerich in Moscow , and 15 photos of the work realized from Mexico with the Banner of Peace were annexed to him. Their managers Ludmila Shaposhnikova and Gennady Zhizhin, gentily gave the exhibition to make a tour by the following Cities of Mexico: Toluca, Morelia , Queretaro, Vernal, Ezequiel Montes and Saltillo.

Great personalities, among them five Directors of Museums of Art of the State and Coordinators of the International Committee., as well as public generally went to the inauguration event, in the Central Library of Toluca.

Our host was the Chief of a main directorate of the Center Mexiquense de Cultura, charismatic Ing. Agustin Gasca , that wasted cordiality with its guests and interest by the photographic sample. It was made an impression very with the Banner of Peace, that brother to all the Humanity, and offered to do a Monument to him in that gorgeous place.

To its request I explained most significant of the exhibition, and insisted on which the Banner of Peace, is the unique Banner in the World, that unites to all the cultures, without distinction of races, policy or religion, inviting them to live: THE UNIT IN THE DIVERSITY.

I have received several letters of the assistants, expressing to me that something wonderful, had happened within them, after seeing the exhibition. and allowed myself to share its feelings to you:

Indeed, the commemorative exhibition of the 75 years of the Roerich Pact and the Banner of Peace, allowed us to enter a full Magical World of peace, brotherhood and emotion.
